“We were all very excited and focused on the wedding; we hadn’t talked about this life together, marriage, what would follow” Romesh with the wedding and formalities over, Romesh and I took a short, local honeymoon. Thus began a new chapter in our lives. We started our married life as strangers. We had not even discussed how our daily lives would be managed. I moved lock, stock and a truck load of wedding presents from Lenasia, Johannesburg, into Romesh’s rented three-bedroom home in Durban. I understood, despite it being unspoken, that I would manage the household chores even when I obtained employment as an attorney.
